Over the past few months Bioserv, Inc. has supported the Mission of Mercy Clinic, which is a two day clinic that provides free dental care to the under served and uninsured (those that would otherwise go without dental care) in the states of Connecticut, Rhode Island, and New York. Oral health is inseparable from general health and could affect a person's self-esteem, compromise their ability to work, attend school and lead a normal life.
The Connecticut Foundation for Dental Outreach in collaboration with Connecticut State Dental Association held the state's first Mission of Mercy project in 2008. Every year the Connecticut Mission of Mercy project is held in a different location throughout the state.
The New York of Mission Mercy started their America's Dentists Care Foundation in 2003 to help provide oral health care services to a large number of patients. Their foundation helped to serve patients with cleanings, fillings, extractions, oral health education and assistance in finding a dentist for follow-up care.
The Rhode Island Oral Health Foundation was established in 2011. Their Foundation provides funding and resources to improve oral health within the state of Rhode Island, to convene a yearly signature event, the Rhode Island Mission of Mercy provides an opportunity for oral health professionals to address unmet oral health needs in RI through advocacy, education, and the delivery of high quality dental services.
